May 17, 2024 -- This May, Ghent is excited to introduce a Continuing Education Unit (CEU) aimed at educating the design community on the impacts of intentionally crafted outdoor spaces for collaboration and learning. Entitled “Beyond the Classroom: Enhancing Student Performance and Wellbeing through Outdoor Learning Spaces,” this course is scheduled for May 23rd, 2024, starting at 12 P.M.
The utilization of outdoor spaces, both in education and corporate environments, has been trending in the design sphere, and for good reason. Since the unveiling of our outdoor collaboration hub, Preserve, at NeoCon in 2022, Ghent has been exploring the numerous ways in which the integration of nature can enhance performance and promote mental and physical wellbeing.
During this CEU session, participants will explore the science of biophilia and its substantial impact on cognition and health, and how it can be effectively translated into educational settings. Furthermore, we will examine the risks associated with excluding outdoor spaces in design, along with the advantages of the incorporation of outdoor learning environments.
This accredited course, endorsed by AIA HSW and IDCEC HSW, will fulfill continuing education requirements. Join us as we reimagine the boundaries of learning environments and discover what we stand to gain as we explore the outside world for educational opportunities.
This virtual CEU is open to anyone needing IDCEC or AIA credit. Register here: https://bit.ly/beyondtheclassroomceu
