A Letter from Our CEO

GMi_here for you

To our valued partners, reps, and dealers:

These past couple of weeks, we saw unprecedented action by both the federal and state government. Ohio has been leading the country with social distancing initiatives. We’re continuing to monitor the latest news about COVID-19 and deal with the current situation and whatever changes may come in the future. This goes almost without saying, but like many of you, keeping our employees and partners safe is a top priority. We want to make sure you are aware of the steps we are taking to keep with our purpose of Service to Customers, Employees, and Community.

Service to our Customers:

Our Ohio factories are up and running in a safe and secure manner based on guidelines issued by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Because all of our products are made in-house, we have control over our materials and processes. We do not anticipate supply chain interruptions as we have built our supply chain for co-sourcing of materials.

Our goal continues to be to provide you with a quality product delivered within expected timelines and we do not anticipate an increase in our lead times. However, we know there may be some customers who are unable to physically accept delivery of their previously ordered product due to mandated closures, particularly K-12 and Higher-Ed institutions. If you know of any customers that may not be open and able to receive their order, please reach out to our Customer Experience team.

Service to our Employees and Community:

We are complying with all recommendations from the CDC and the government and are taking extra precautions in cleaning and protecting our workers as you would expect. We are limiting visitors to our facility at this time. Previously scheduled in person appointments will be replaced with phone or webinar as needed. Additionally, employees have the option to work from home. You should not see any interruption in our response times as we continue to service both your needs and your customer’s needs.

Our hope is that these measures will keep our team safe and healthy while still allowing us to conduct business and serve our customers.

GMi Companies (Ghent, Waddell, and VividBoard) is a small, family-owned business, and I’m proud to say that many of our employees have been with us for more than 25 years, some since we founded the company over 40 years ago. We are thinking about you, your families, and your businesses and are here to support you over the coming weeks.

Please stay safe and healthy,

G. Mark Leasure

CEO

Cleaning Ghent Products

We are all searching for creative solutions to help decrease the spread of the disease while continuing to operate - and we know our partners and dealers need solutions quickly. Our products are providing the extra margin of safety needed to continue to operate during this time of physical distancing. A few points specific to the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19):

  • According to the CDC, transmission of COVID-19 to persons from surfaces contaminated with the virus has not been documented. Transmission of COVID-19 apparently occurs through respiratory droplets.
  • The CDC has advised that the most effective method for preventing the spread of viruses and germs is to follow handwashing protocols.
  • Download cleaning instructions for specific Ghent surfaces.
