What Is Ghosting?
Ghosting on whiteboards is a common issue, however, you might be asking “well, what even IS whiteboard ghosting?”
Whiteboard ghosting occurs when dry erase marks are left behind and cannot be erased. Normally, most dry erase marks can be simply wiped away using a whiteboard eraser, and more stubborn marks can be cleaned away with a damp cloth. However, the reason ‘ghost’ marks are so pesky is because ghosted marks cannot be washed off a board easily. This is known as ghosting because you can often see the remnants of old writing on the board no matter how many times the surface is cleaned.
Whiteboard ghosting can be caused by many factors, such as low quality whiteboard surfaces, heavy whiteboard usage and erasing marks that haven’t completely dried. That being said, using high-quality markers is a must! Ghent ships a universal marker holder and four high-quality markers with each whiteboard purchase to help you get started on the right foot.
